Saturday, October 18th, 2025 brought the return of the CKNX Health Care Heroes Radiothon. For a 24th year, the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation partnered with CKNX and 8 other area hospital foundations to raise funds in support of local health care.

This year, the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation set another ambitious goal - to raise $150,000 towards Nurse Call System Upgrades for Louise Marshall Hospital in Mount Forest. The call system is an essential method of communication between patients and the hospital's nursing team. An upgraded nurse call system means that patients can easily communicate with staff when in need, which leads to both timely and efficient care and also contributes to enhanced patient safety. Additionally, this project will bring the older sections of the hospital  - which includes the inpatient unit - in line with the renovated portions of the hospital, allowing for improved communication across the whole facility. 

We are so excited to share that - with your support - the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation exceeded this goal, raising more than $150,,000 towards these much-needed upgrades at Louise Marshall Hospital! This was only made possible through the contributions of many, and sometimes thank you does not seem like a powerful enough word. To everyone made a donation towards this campaign, to those of you who attended our community breakfast, and to those who gifted us with your time, we are so grateful for your support! CKNX Health Care Heroes Radiothon: A Brief History

Each fall, CKNX AM920 and local hospital foundations in southwestern Ontario team up to host a unique all-day fundraiser. Since its inception in 2002, the CKNX Health Care Heroes Radiothon has raised more than $14.8 million in support of local hospitals, and has helped to fund the essential equipment necessary to provide excellence in local health care.

The Mount Forest Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation is proud to have been a part of this remarkable fundraising initiative since the 1st Annual CKNX Health Care Heroes Radiothon took to the air in 2002. Over the past 23 years, our community here in Mount Forest and the surrounding area has, time and again, demonstrated their exceptional giving spirit, and together we have raised $2,593,030 in support of Louise Marshall Hospital through this annual campaign. This is only made possible through the extraordinary generosity of local residents, businesses and service organizations, and we could not be more grateful for your support. THANK YOU!
